Mise-en-scene video feedback and learner responseđź’•
Mr Halseys Feedback:
- You’ve taken on a really challenging recreation and managed to deliver a fun, entertaining video. Well done!
- Focusing on mise-en-scene, the costumes, locations and actor movement/expression are excellent. You’ve captured the feel of the original. I also think the shots are framed well and fit the split-screen element effectively.
- The first 20 seconds are close to perfect in terms of the editing and split screen. You lose it a little towards the end but it’s a very complex and awkward editing task to keep the two video and audio tracks running simultaneously and still making the conversation make sense. This is a brilliant lesson in editing, never mind mise-en-scene!
- I’m also impressed you’ve managed the technical issues with PCs crashing to still deliver this work.
I think the facial expressions and costumes were as close as it could be which is good, I chose to take on a challenge because everyone else was pretty similar it was tough but I half got their in the end.
Next time I could educate myself more to edit more smoothly and I could improve lighting.
Next time I will film in various locations which could be more accurate and fitting to the original. I will also ensure the jump from each scene is smoother rather than being choppy.
From this piece of coursework I have discovered how important mise en scene is "CLAMPS" is what sets the movie and gives the genre a feel. For example is a character is wearing makeup and has a bloody face with a prop that's a knife you would assume its a horror film. A little mistake can affect the whole production like a shadow or unclear audio
